Resources:
Here are some resources from our expert panelists that you may find useful as you explore and work on this issue:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) created an excellent resource to help aid in preventing adverse childhood trauma. It's a great tool if looking to present to families and educators. It offers evidence based strategies, prevalence data and statistics, articles, videos, and publications.
Preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs): Leveraging the Best Available Evidence is a good resource.
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network offers a Trauma Toolkit for Educators.
The book The Deepest Well is an excellent read on childhood trauma. It’s a great book study for our schools to truly understand the “look” of trauma. Great to increase awareness of the magnitude of trauma and how we can heal.
Our panelist, Kacey Venning offers services to faith-based communities as well: www.kaceyvenning.com
